The Founders of the company

Electrotek Static Discharge is successfully run by two young men who love to take up challenges and come out successfully in whatever responsibilities they undertake. Mr. Yogesh Gupta  & Mr. Shankar T. K., are both co-founder and CEOs of the company, which is the first to  manufacture Electrostatic Control and Clean Room products. They have a successful track record, having proved themselves in their fields of expertise.

Mr. Yogesh Gupta who has a degree in Electronics Engineering, held prestigious porfolios as Quality Head in leading electronics hardware manufacturing companies. In addition to that, he also lead numerous ESD Control awareness and Training programs in the industry.

Mr. Shankar T.K. is an Engineer by profession but an excellent entrepreneur at heart. He spearheaded many of the activities of the company. Under his guidance and encouragement the company launched a number of innovative and sophisticated range of products with various applications. 

What is ESD?

Electrostatic Discharge, or ESD, means rapid transfer of electrostatic charge between two objects, which happens usually when two objects, with two different levels of electrons, come in direct contact with each other. This transfer of electrons from one object to another and its separation in called tribo-electric charging - where 'tribo' means 'rub'. In this process the object which loses the electrons becomes positively charged and the objects that gain electron become negatively charged.

Consequence and Precaution against ESD

Consequence : The contamination caused by Electro Static Discharge is the major causes of device failures in the semiconductor industry, that is exhibited in one more way like:

• Short
• Burn-out
• Di-electric Rupture
• Resistor-metal
• Interface Rupture
• Resistor Fusing
• Metal Fusing
• Die Surface Charging, etc.

Precautions: Human bodies, Devices and Machines can be the models for electrostatic transfers. The electrostatic transfer can take place from the floor when one is entering a room. Hence it is essential that one use all types of anti-static gadgets which includes shoes, belts, tiles, curtain, foot strap etc to prevent electro static discharges. Anti-static products are essential in industries like electrical industry, electronic industry, pharmaceutical industry, defence industry, IT and telecommunication industry, and various other type of manufacturing units in different industries.
